 Vault By Vans e Joe Freshgoods have teamed up for a collaborative capsule dubbed "Chocolate Valley Resort": the collection that explores travel and time through a black vision, immersing yourself in a place frozen in time."Chocolate Valley Resort" Of Vans x Joe Freshgoods is the new collection of shoes, clothing and accessories, which pays homage to the African American community and to the movement for the conquest of civil rights and the freedom to travel through history.

Joe Freshgoods, combining his personal experience during the long Midwestern winters and his design skills, has designed a collection of shoes and clothing to face the winter in style. 

As stated by Joe Freshgoods Robinson himself " For this collection, I wanted to create a story that embraced the rich heritage of Vault by Vans, but told from a new perspective. “Chocolate Valley Resort traces the history of the African-American community as it conquered the freedom to travel in the era of racial segregation with a winter collection that combines lively style with functionality” 

Creativity and movement are the founding concepts of the entire collection which revisits workwear with modern silhouettes and bright colours. 

“Using shades of pink throughout my collections has always been a constant for me – it is the color that first inspired my design journey many years ago. Designed for cold climates, this collection includes a full lineup of performance-inspired gear needed to brave the long, harsh Midwest winters. In line with the same concept of winter travel that underpins the collection, many items also feature a quilted pattern inspired by the design of the duvet.”  

"Chocolate Valley Resort", the space to relax and reconnect in a 50s style 

The Chocolate Valley Resort it is a metaphor for a safe space to promote creativity and a sense of belonging to the community, a place to feel at home. Documented by Yashaddai Owens and played by Barrington Darius, the look book, set in the 1950s, tells the story of an African-American writer who comes across the "Chocolate Valley Resort" during his journey in search of a space to start over, relax and find himself. The collection and lookbook are a tribute to African American history and writers such as James Baldwin It is Audre Lorde, who traveled abroad to escape racism in America with the intent of building a literary career elsewhere.
